Teresa Lea Havard Kessinger

Funeral services for Teresa Lea Havard Kessinger, 72, of Diboll will be held Friday, June 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Young and Brother Covale McCrae officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Grove Cemetery. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kessinger was born August 30, 1953 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Verdie Marcille (Small) and Virgil Havard, and died Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at her residence.

Teresa worked as a certified medical assistant and one of her hobbies was studying genealogy. She was a member of the United Daughter of the Confederacy and a loyal member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary. She was proud to be involved in placing flags in Angelina County cemeteries each year for our Veterans. Teresa was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, George Emmet Kessinger of Diboll; sons, Kevin Moore and George D. Kessinger, both of Diboll; son-in-law, Dwight Modisette of Broaddus; grandchildren, Kelsey and Heidi Moore, Meagan, Shane, Joseph and Nadilie Kessinger, Eric Weeks and wife Kirstein, April Edwards and husband Christopher, eight great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra Beachamp and husband Jimmy of Diboll; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Misty Modisette, sister, Kathreen Chuke, and brother and sister-in-law, Virgil and Nancy Havard.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Havard, Sean Havard, Charley Chuke, Keith Cagle, Eric Weeks, and Grady Courtney.
