Teresa Grimes

Funeral services for Teresa Grimes, 65, of Zavalla will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Matt Grimes officiating. Interment will follow in Cameron Cemetery in the Saron Community.

Mrs. Grimes was born October 1, 1958 in Lufkin, Texas to Cora Sue (Gilbert) and Billy Edwards Stone, and died Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Huntington Healthcare & Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Grimes was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. She was a cashier at Coleman’s in Zavalla for 25 years and was loved by all her customers. They were her biggest fans. She was a loving wife, proud mother and grandmother. Everyone knew her and she was well known as “Aunt T”. She always had a smile on her face and was just a great person.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Milton Grimes of Zavalla; daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Marty Goodwin of Zavalla; son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Amber Grimes of Zavalla; mother, Cora Sue Stone of Huntington; grandchildren, Kaylie Vaught and husband Cody, Kamryn Grimes, Chloe Brooks, Korey Grimes, and Garon Wayne Grimes; great-granddaughter, Laynee Vaught; sister, Anola Gay Rook of Huntington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Carla Stone, Kip and Tina Stone, and Brad Stone, all of Huntington; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and many beloved customers from Coleman’s.

She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Edwards Stone and brother-in-law, Ronnie Rook.

Pallbearers will be Terry Stone, Kip Stone, Brad Stone, Mack Weaver, Dalton Weaver, Garon Grimes, and Matt Grimes.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randall Massey, Carey Havard, Lloyd Havard, and Joey Courtney.

The family extends special thanks to the staffs of Heart to Heart Hospice and Huntington Healthcare & Rehabilitation for the wonderful and loving care given to Teresa.
