Memorial services for Tandy Elizabeth Pease Hicks, 73, of Lufkin will be held Friday, January 9, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Largent Cemetery.
Tandy was born April 28, 1952 in Port Arthur, Texas to Donna (Raughton) and HA “Pete” Pease. She graduated from Captain Shreve High School, Shreveport, Louisiana, Class of 1970 and attended Business/Secretary School in Beaumont.
Tandy was married to the late James L. Hicks III for 30 years. They had two sons, Jimmy and Charlie, who they raised together in Lufkin, Texas, where Tandy resided for 45 years. She was employed in Lufkin at Brookshire Brothers and A Pineywoods Home Health where she made many lifelong friends.
Tandy had an amazing sense of humor and was always ready for a party. She also had an adventurous spirit. In her adult lifetime she enjoyed traveling. Her travels were diverse, taking her to Europe, Hawaii, and on many memorable cruises.
Tandy loved her family and was a dispenser of grace and love to those around her. In 1988 Tandy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized in Lufkin, Texas. On Thursday, December 25, 2025, Tandy passed peacefully at Houston Methodist Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Survivors include her sons, James D. Hicks and wife Lindsay of Nacogdoches, and Charles C. Hicks of Huntsville; grandchildren, Jacob Hicks of Lufkin, and Holly and James Hicks of Nacogdoches; step-grandchildren, Claudia Perry of Houston, Jonathan Hinajosa, and Juan Arrevalo, both of Lufkin; mother, Donna McBride of Winnie; sister, Kay Dezendorf and husband George of Silsbee; brothers, Pete Pease of San Diego, California, Barry Rachal and wife Colette, Clayton Rachal and wife Tammy, all of Bossier City, Louisiana, Woody Rachal and wife Kathy of Spring, and Trent McBride of Winnie; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, HA “Pete” Pease and stepmother, Peggy Pease of Shreveport, Louisiana.
