Memorial services for Tammy Dent, 66, of Huntington will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Casey Pinner officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Tammy was born September 15, 1959 in Wichita, Kansas, and died Friday, January 23, 2026 at her residence.

Tamara Dent, a devoted and deeply loved mother, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will continue to live on through all who knew her.

Tammy worked for over 30 years for Walmart and made numerous friends there who she still talked about even after her retirement several years back. Tammy often mentioned how she wished she was still healthy enough to go back to work at Walmart with all her friends.

Tammy loved working outside, especially riding her zero-turn lawn mower, feeding her birds, and looking after her plants.

Tammy was the heart of her family - steadfast, nurturing, and endlessly giving. She had a remarkable way of making people feel seen and cared for, whether through a listening ear, thoughtful advice, or simple moments of shared laughter.

Known for her warm spirit and generous heart, Tammy touched many lives beyond her family.

Tammy will be remembered always for her compassion, her strength, and the deep love she gave so freely. She will be dearly missed and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Andrea McAlister; grandsons, Kerry O’Hanlon and Konor O’Hanlon; sister and brother-in-law, Stephany Lou and Grant Haley; brother-law, Tony Hasler; nephews, Doug Lile and Dalton Hasler; and niece, Nicole Haley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norma J. and Daryle R. Blanck; and sister, Kellie Hasler.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the services.
