T. Leon Carroll

Memorial services for T. Leon Carroll, 85, of Pollok will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Reidel Wilkerson officiating. Military honors will be rendered by MSG U.S. Army, Glen Pickard. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Carroll was born June 9, 1933 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Ida (Bond) and Thomas Clinnard Carroll, Sr., and died Thursday, January 24, 2019 in a local nursing home.

Mr. Carroll was a lifetime resident of Angelina County and a graduate of Redland High School. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Lufkin Industries following more than 40 years of employment. Mr. Carroll loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved working on things, and could fix anything. He was a gardener and took great pride in his yard. Overall, he was just a good man. Mr. Carroll was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving and caring husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Doris (Woodard) Carroll of Pollok; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Roy Paul Weathers, Luran and Don Pittmon, Sr., all of Pollok; grandchildren and spouses, Chris and Melissa Weathers, Stacey and Mike Green, Donald, Jr. and Karen Pittmon, all of Pollok; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Kaitlyn, Kason, Skiela, Cadence, Justin, and Justina; brother and sister-in-law, Archie and Pam Carroll of Schulenburg; sister, Melba Jean Carter of Tyler; brother-in-law, Charles Martin of Houston; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and one brother.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Weathers, Ricky Weathers, Charles Martin, Walter Butler, Rosten McDuffie, Dwight Woodard, and Winston Woodard.
