Susan Giese Baker

Funeral services for Susan Giese Baker, 71, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Comstock officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Baker was born December 11, 1953 in Houston, Texas, and died Saturday, June 7, 2025 in a local nursing home. She retired from Brookshire Brothers following more than 35 years of employment.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Robert Baker of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Sara Baker; grandchildren, Clayton Webb, Alise Richard and spouse Lane Lair, Grace Richard, and Ryder Richard; great-grandchildren, Emory Chacon-Webb and Giovanni Chacon; brother, Pat Giese; sister, Lisa Vasquez; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Vicki Baker and Ronnie and Cathy Baker; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret Ann and Edward Lewis; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives; and her dog, Sweetie, that she loved greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margery (White) and Daniel Doetterl; brother, Lloyd Robert Giese; grandmother, Ida Louise White; and parents-in-law, Nell and Eldon Baker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ryder Richard, Lane Lair, R.L. Lyles, Jr., Bradley Luke Smith, and Clayton Webb.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
