Suellen Renfrow Hawthorne

Memorial services for Suellen Renfrow Hawthorne, 74, of Grapevine will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Clay Hughey, nephew of the deceased, officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hawthorne was born March 17, 1948 in Houston, Texas to the late Zerilda (Grant) and Louis Randolph Renfrow, and died Monday, December 26, 2022 in Grapevine. Suellen spent her childhood and early adulthood in Lufkin.

Survivors include her daughter, Leah DeVore and husband Chris; grandchildren, Maggie and Layton DeVore of Prior Lake, Minnesota; son, Scott Hawthorne of Denton, Texas; son, Jamison Hawthorne of Austin, Texas; sisters, Louise Hughey of Mansfield, Texas, and Jane Griggs of Grapevine, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Capt. Ronnie Roy Hawthorne of the U.S. Air Force.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, or your favorite church or charity.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. Friday morning prior to the service.
