Steven Edward Flurry

Graveside services for Steven Edward Flurry, 31, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 12:00 noon in the Tom Havard Cemetery with Pastor Elizabeth Fudge officiating.

Steven was born November 12, 1992 in Lufkin to Tammy (Williams) and Stewart Flurry, and died Thursday, February 15, 2024 at his residence.

Steven graduated high school in 2012. He was full of love and life. This world will never be the same without him in it. One of his favorite things was marshmallow peeps. Steven’s laughter was contagious and could fill a room. He would laugh out of nowhere, and it made you wonder what was going through his mind. He was loved by everyone who knew him. There is a quote that says “Autism is not a tragedy; it’s a unique and beautiful way of being. It’s a reminder that our world is more vibrant when we embrace Neurodiversity.” I couldn’t think of a better quote to describe life with him here.

Survivors include his parents, Stewart and Tammy Flurry of Lufkin; brother, Travis Williams of Lufkin; sister, Destiny Flurry and fiancé Blake Kolb of Nacogdoches; grandparents, Reginal and Velma Flurry of Lufkin; grandmother, Joyce Williams of Lufkin; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, JD Williams.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Grimes, Paul Hope, Jeffrey Williams, Adrian Way, and Clark Phipps.

Honorary pallbearers will be Teddy Williams, JD Williams, and Brandon Finley.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning at Carroway Funeral Home.
