Funeral services for Shirley Hearn, 76, of Pasadena will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother James McKenzie and Brother Calvin Kersh officiating. Interment will follow in the Carrell Cemetery.
Mrs. Hearn was born August 3, 1944 in Huntington, Texas, to the late Sally Marie (Burnett) and Clarence Durham Halliburton, and died Wednesday, July 14, 2021 surrounded by her family in Pasadena.
Shirley's most important job was that she prayed constantly for her children, grandchildren and all of her family. She talked with Jesus about everything, good or bad, and always gave praise to our Lord Jesus. She managed multiple restaurants when she was 15 years old. That is where she met Bud, the love of her life. After marrying and having her first child, she worked herself through nursing school.
Most of her nursing career was at Houston Methodist Hospital. She worked with Dr. Michael DeBakey and many other world renowned professionals. She said the best times in her life were spent caring for her husband and children. She coached Julie in softball and even put a pool table in her living room when Kelly was a teenager so he and all his friends would stay home. She uplifted her husband and children while encouraging them to follow their dreams and she was the driving force behind BS Leasing, their successful trucking company for over 20 years.
Shirley is survived by her son William Kelly Hearn and his wife Rena of Porter and her daughter Julie Lynn Hearn and her husband Bryan Hoffpauir of Trinity. Her grandchildren Molly June Naranjo and her husband Brandon, Ethan Walter Blackwell, Zachery Colton Blackwell and his wife Angela, Ryan Kelly Hearn and his wife Hayley, Nathaniel Christopher Blackwell, Rebecca Lynn Blackwell and her fiancé James Keleman. Sister Earlene Meador of Mauriceville, brother Roy Lee and his wife Mary Halliburton of Orange, sister JoAnn Krustchinsky of Orange and Laverne Garza and her husband Richard of Spring.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years Bennie Buck “Bud” Hearn, granddaughter Megan Faye Hearn, and siblings Varnell Phillips, Gary Wayne Halliburton and Curtis Halliburton all of Orange.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the service.
