Shirley Ann Bauer

A memorial visitation for Shirley Ann Bauer, 79, of Lufkin will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bauer was born July 24, 1945 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Edna (Yarbrough) and Ralph Mangrum, and died Friday, June 27, 2025 at her residence.

Mrs. Bauer was a lifelong resident of Lufkin and worked as a secretary at Quad Graphics, retiring after 30 years. Her hobbies included gardening, working in the yard, fishing, oil painting, and playing 42 at the Senior Center. She loved spending time with her family and found great pleasure in cooking for them. Shirley loved God and enjoyed attending the Nerren Cemetery Bible Study with her neighbors. She was a member of Bald Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Suzan Taylor of Pollok; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers, William Mangrum and Royce Mangrum; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ron Taylor, Sr.; second husband, Gary Bauer; and sisters-in-law, Syble Mangrum and Delrice Mangrum.
