Funeral services for Sheryl Renee Graham, 79, of Nacogdoches will be held Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Dana Woods and Brother Fred Richardson officiating. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Antioch Cemetery in Buna, Texas.
Sheryl entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, January 7, 2024. She came to know Jesus at a young age and grew up in the church but recently found a friend in Him after finding their current church at Old North Baptist Church in Nacogdoches.
Sheryl was born February 11, 1944 in Crockett, Texas to Wayne Louis Jeter and Sarah Leggett. She was raised in Lovelady and Buna and graduated from Buna High School.
She met the love of her life, Carl Graham, while working at a dentist’s office in Port Arthur. A country girl fell in love with a city boy and they came together and made a beautiful life together.
Sheryl and Carl raised their family in southeast Texas before moving to the Pineywoods of East Texas, making friends wherever they planted themselves. Sheryl worked off and on during her lifetime but excelled at being a wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, sister and friend.
Survivors include her husband, Carl; son, Clark; daughter, Carla Carlisle and her husband Russell; daughter, Amanda Tallant and her husband Joe; her sister, Peggy Kanakis; as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael; her sister, Marlene Rich; and brother, Sonny Gates.
What a beautiful life she lived and she will be missed by all who knew her. We greatly appreciate all the love and support shown to our family during this difficult time.
Pallbearers will be Clark Graham, Sr., Ryan Graham, Jonathan Graham, Carl Hollier, Don Morris, and Dennis Griffiths.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clark Graham, Jr., Russell Carlisle, Nathan Carlisle, Joe Tallant, Joshua Tallant, and Jacob Tallant.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the Old North Baptist Church Renovation Fund, PO Box 633234, Nacogdoches, Texas 75963 or the National Autism Association of North Texas at www.naa-nt.org.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning prior to the service.
