Shelby Amanda Stephens Davidson

Shelby Amanda Stephens Davidson, 49, of Lufkin died Saturday, October 11, 2025 at home, with her family by her side. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Shelby was born August 27, 1976 in Baytown, Texas. Until she became too ill to work, she was a Special Education teacher at Nacogdoches High School. Shelby loved her animals when she was growing up, horses, cats, and dogs (Delilah and Sasha). Her favorite jewelry was anything turtles. She loved traveling the United States and visited most states, hiking the trails at National Parks with her dog. Her favorite spot was in Utah. Shelby was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her son, Tyler Young, Michele Perez, and grandson, Leo Young of Lufkin; daughter, Samantha Davidson of Huntington; parents, Joe and Kathy (Karnes) Stephens of Lufkin; brothers, Brandon Stephens and Jacob Stephens, both of Lufkin; sisters, Mindy Stephens Mayes and husband Dan Mayes of Baytown, and Danielle Stephens of Lufkin; nieces, Cady Fuller and Casady Fuller Teer and husband Colby, all of Lufkin; nephew, Cael Mayes of Baytown; special friend, Aaron Carter of Nacogdoches; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
