Shannon Anita Anthony Moore

September 3, 1969 — March 4, 2026

Lufkin, TX

Funeral services for Shannon Anita Anthony Moore, 57, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pat Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Shannon was born September 3, 1969 in Lufkin, Texas to Lloyd Thomas Anthony and Daisy Ladd Anthony. She was raised in Lufkin, where she spent most of her life surrounded by her family, friends, and a vast church community.

Shannon graduated from Lufkin High School in 1987 and continued her education at Stephen F. Austin State University, answering a calling to the field of education. In December 1993, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Her commitment to growth and service led her to complete her Master’s degree in 2006. For nineteen years, as both a teacher and a school counselor, Shannon guided young lives across East Texas and left a lasting impact on every student who set foot in her classroom.

In 1992, Shannon met the man who would become her husband, Robert Jackson Moore, Jr. On September 25, 1993, Shannon and Bob were married in a ceremony at what would be their first home on Jefferson Street in Lufkin. They welcomed their oldest daughter, Lindsey, in July 1995 and their youngest daughter, Rachel, in June 1998.

Shannon loved generously and without reservation. She cherished her large, close-knit family and the many friendships that enriched her life. Above all else, Shannon loved the Lord. A longtime member of Union Road Church of Christ in Lufkin, she helped cultivate a community grounded in faith, fellowship, and devotion to the gospel. Her faith in God was the steady foundation upon which she built her life.

Whether you knew Shannon as a friend, a teacher, a counselor, a sister in Christ, or through one of the many lives she shaped, her influence endures. We give thanks for the gift of her life even as we grieve her absence. In reverence and in love, we commend her memory to the God she trusted so faithfully, carrying forward the gratitude, laughter, kindness, and abiding faith she planted in the lives she touched.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Robert Jackson Moore, Jr.; her daughters, Lindsey Suzanne Anumula and her husband, Vishal Anumula, and Rachel Julianne Boyle and her husband, John Boyle; her mother, Daisy Ladd Anthony; her brother, William Harrell Anthony and his wife, Sheila Anthony; and countless cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Shannon was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Thomas Anthony; her grandfathers, L.T. Anthony and Fred Ladd; her grandmothers, Bertha Anthony Cook and Garvis Ladd Willmon; and many beloved aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Tim O’Sullivan, Cooper Thornton, Ethan Thornton, Taylor Truss, Michael Hardage, and Larry Davis.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
