Funeral services for Sarah Georgia Watson, 88, of Lufkin will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Matthew Gentry officiating. Interment will follow at Largent Cemetery.

Sarah Georgia Watson was born January 15, 1936 in Angelina County, Texas to the late James Clarence Moses and Lilly (Pittman) Moses. She was one of six siblings and spent her days taking care of her family. She met Pat in 1954 at Massey Business College in Lufkin. She passed away at her residence in Lufkin, Texas.

She was a loving mom, “Nanny Georgia”, aunt, cousin, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the birds and her beautiful flowers, and watching her Hallmark channel. Mrs. Watson worked as a teachers’ aide at Hudson ISD for 23 years. She loved working in the yard in her flower beds. Her love of flowers was one of her many joys. She had a fresh bouquet of flowers that she arranged each week, always on display. She was the best cook and was well known for her many dishes, her “pies” and “banana pudding” being family favorites. Her love for her family and most of all her “great-grandchildren” kept her going in her last days until the Lord called her home Friday, January 3, 2025.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Walker and husband Kent, and Connie Wright, all of Lufkin; son, Henny Watson and wife Belinda of Diboll; grandchildren, Kimberly and husband Matthew Gentry of College Station, Krystle and husband Brad Horneffer of Prosper, Kourtney and husband Blake Ponson of Lufkin, Mandy Wright of Navarre, Florida, Randy Wright of Lufkin, Bobby Watson, Eric and wife Sandra Mott, all of Huntington, and April and husband Matthew Crager of Houston; the great-grandchildren who visited Lainey, Stephen, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Caleb, Emily, Jackson, Holly, and Walker who made her days full of laughter and happiness; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and other extended family that called and checked on Mom.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James R. “Pat” Watson; sister, Lessie Lillian; and brothers, James Edward Moses, Marvin Bailey Moses, Jessie William Moses, and Harold “Bloss” Moses.

Pallbearers will be Kent Walker, Matthew Gentry, Randy Wright, Brad Horneffer, Blake Ponson, Stephen Gentry, and Ryan Gentry.

Honorary pallbearers will be James (Henny) Watson, Rusty Pittman, Joe Nick, JC McClain, David Duff, Red Lacey, and Clarence “Porky” Moses.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of CHI St. Luke’s, Accent Home Healthcare, Affinity Hospice, niece, Lynda Cryer, special friends, Patsy Diggle and Joyce Horn, great-nephew, David Duff, and niece, Bobbie O’Neill, for their constant care and communication with Mom while living in Lufkin.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon prior to the services.
