Sandra Lynn Moore Stephens

March 10, 1961 — April 15, 2018

Memorial services for Sandra Lynn Moore Stephens, 57, of Lufkin will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Eric Peyton officiating. A reception will follow the services in the Carroway Family Reception Room. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Ms. Stephens was born March 10, 1961 in Lufkin, Texas, and died Sunday, April 15, 2018 in a Houston hospital.

Ms. Stephens had resided in Lufkin most of her life. She was a Home Health Aide for Texas Home Health and was a member of Lancewood Baptist Church. Sandy had a special gift of caring for the elderly. She loved all animals, especially her little dog Peanut. Her favorite place was the beach. She was our rock and will be truly missed.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Daniel Irish of Pittston, Maine; grandchildren, Cody Rackliff and Scarlett Irish; parents, Sue (Church) Moore and J.W. Knight of Lufkin, Gene and JoAnn Moore of New Braunfels; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and Arthur Jones of Diboll and Sherry Eiseman of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Nadine Moore of Lufkin; uncles and aunt, Jessie Church of Lufkin, Jimmie and Cathie Church of Huntington; special aunt, Betty Church Phillips of Georgetown; former husband and good friend, John Stephens of Nacogdoches; children of John Stephens, Mark Stephens and Donna Holtzclaw, both of Nacogdoches; longtime companion, Jimmy C. Jones of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Angela Goodson of Lufkin; father-in-law, James Jones of Lufkin; best friend, Melanie Bennett of Diboll; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mike Dean; best friend, Delisa Dean; grandmother, Lena Church; mother-in-law, Mattie Sue Jones; and grandparents-in-law, Chester and Ruby Jones.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Winnie Berry Animal Shelter, c/o Humane Society of Angelina County, P.O. Box 472, Lufkin, Texas 75902.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon prior to the services.
