Samuel Blake Mcbride

Funeral services for Samuel Blake McBride, 28, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mike Tanner and Brother Reagan Jackson officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Weeks Chapel Cemetery in Newton County.

Samuel was born February 5, 1990 in Grenada, Mississippi, and died Friday, June 1, 2018 in a local hospital. He had resided in Lufkin since 2002. Samuel enjoyed the Salvation Army Adult Day Center where he was known as "Big Baby". He loved fried catfish prepared by his granddad. Samuel was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his parents, Rachel (Ferguson) and Sammy Leo McBride of Lufkin; brother, Jacob Blane McBride of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Racheal and Alex Outlaw of Alabama; grandparents, Percy and Sandra Ferguson of Kountze and Leo McBride of Mississippi; and a number of other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sue Ellen McBride.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Adult Day Care Center, 305 Shands Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
