Funeral services for Ruth Spurgeon Fox, 89, of Etoile will be held Monday, February 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Etoile United Pentecostal Church with Brother Barry Rankin and Brother Mark Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Blue Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Fox was born November 4, 1930 in Camp Worth, Texas to the late Rosa Lee (Crisp) and James Willis Spurgeon, and died Thursday, February 6, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Fox resided in Etoile most of her life. She loved working in her garden and sewing. She was a member of Woden United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda F. Wilson of Etoile; granddaughter, Jana Faulkner and husband Garrel of Wake Village; grandsons, Anthony Fox of Buna, Jeffrey Fox and fiancée Allison Harp of Etoile; sisters, Virginia Cook of Uvalde, Anna Laura Rogers of Montgomery, Betty Porter and husband Bobby of Nacogdoches; brother, Dauris Spurgeon of Fort Worth; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cleveland L. Fox; son, Michael Antone Fox; brothers, Chalmer W. Spurgeon, James H. Spurgeon, and Raphel Spurgeon; and sisters, Aliene Spurgeon and Fern Hodges.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Fox, Anthony Fox, Bill Holt, Freddie Bird, Caleb Bird, and Elijah Bird.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon prior to the services.
