Ruth Nell Barnhart

Graveside services with burial of cremains for Ruth Nell Barnhart, 83, of Dallas, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Whitehouse Cemetery with her son, Reverend Marty Lewis, officiating.

Mrs. Barnhart was born July 8, 1938 in Garrison, Texas to the late Flossie (Crawford) and George Fitzgerald, and died Monday, January 17, 2022 in Dallas.

Before moving to Dallas Mrs. Barnhart resided in Lufkin 55 years. She was a housewife and home caregiver. Mrs. Barnhart was a member of Redland Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Nanette Lewis of Dallas; grandchildren, Ethan Lewis of Washington, DC and Hannah Lewis of Dallas; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hollis Ray Barnhart; daughter, Kathy Lewis; brothers, Joe W. McMillan, Bill Blount, and George C. Fitzgerald; and sister, Mary Keathley.
