Ruby "Jack" Thompson

Funeral services for Ruby “Jack” Thompson, 86, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Greater Love Tabernacle with Reverend Ronnie Frankens officiating. Interment will follow in Ryan Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson was born August 1, 1932 in the Burke Community of Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Loma (White) and Roy Jackson. She died Friday, December 14, 2018 in Kingwood.

Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She had lived in the Lufkin area all her life. Mrs. Thompson attended church services at Greater Love Tabernacle in Homer, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Nancy Lout of Lufkin, Bobby and Laura Thompson of New Caney, and Johnny Thompson of Porter; grandchildren, Stephanie Lout, Bubba Lout, Amber Knight, Mandi Hopkins, Brandi Hopkins, Kandi Eakin, Marlana Lout, Kimberly Kennedy, Jennifer Mays, D.J. Russell, Travis Thompson, Alyssa Thompson, and Kaitlyn Williams; twenty-seven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert “Bob” Thompson; children, Mary Alice Hopkins and Kenneth Earl Lout; brothers, Harvey Jackson, Johnny Jackson, Burtis Jackson, and Paul Jackson; and sister, Lettie Burden-Fisher.

Pallbearers will be Sterling Sowell, Jacob Sowell, Jesse Galan, Aaron Knight, Jimmy DelToro, Sam Hopkins, D.J. Russell, and Travis Thompson.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
