Ruby Hyacinth Frye Hatch

March 4, 1939 — May 24, 2026

Huntington, TX

Funeral services for Ruby Hyacinth Frye Hatch, of Huntington will be held Friday, May 29, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Highway Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Lamar Denby officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Jonesville Cemetery.

Ruby was born March 4, 1939 to Ruth White Frye and Charles Frye and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 24, 2026 at the age of 87.

Ruby was from Huntington, Texas and grew up in the Little Hope Community where she spent much of her childhood with her mother and extended family on a small farm in the country. She graduated from Huntington High School before deciding to enlist and serve in the WAVES with the US Navy. She was very proud of the opportunity to serve her country. After her time in the Navy, she married Robert Hatch and together they had 3 boys. As a single mom she diligently worked on her nursing degree at University of Houston and became a Registered Nurse.

Ruby had a long career as a Registered Nurse. During this rewarding career she worked in a variety of hospital settings and especially enjoyed her time as a traveling nurse. Nursing was a career where she could compassionately serve others, and she saw this as an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus. She loved her Lord and Savior and loved her church family. She was a member of Highway Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington and had also been a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Huntington in past years. She felt privileged to have the opportunity to travel to Muldova to serve at an orphanage on a mission trip with First Baptist. Those who knew her as a mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend will cherish many fond and precious memories including her generous spirit of baking cakes and pies as well as her sparkly red hair.

Survivors include her sons, Jason Paul Hatch and wife Tara of Lufkin, James Luke Hatch and Ramona of Huntington, Tristan Riley Hatch of Huntington; special nieces, Donna Hubbard Greer and Diane Hubbard Weathers; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Mark Stephen Hatch; mother, Ruth Russell; sister, Charlene Hubbard; and brother, Douglas Russell.

The family would like to thank all of those who reached out to Ms. Ruby, including her caregivers, during her most recent illness.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Highway Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 848, Huntington, Texas 75949.
