Ruby Annabelle Tillar Doney

Funeral services for Ruby Annabelle Tillar Doney, 92, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the Narrow Way Cemetery.

Mrs. Doney was born January 6, 1927 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Susan E. (Cook) and Dan Tillar, and died Saturday, April 27, 2019 in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Doney was a life-time resident of Lufkin who loved taking care of people and was a caretaker for many years. She loved working with her husband at his machine shop and working their cows. She loved all animals. Mrs. Doney was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include her brother, George Horman Tillar of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Patricia Tillar of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 65 years, Harold Doney; brothers, James Coleman Tillar, Glen Tillar, and C.W. Tillar; and sisters, Inez Barnes and Virginia McDonald.

Pallbearers will be Cody Williams, Zack Williams, Clay Tillar, Glen Tillar, Dustin Williams, Harold Tillar, and Kevin Tillar.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
