Roy Lee Lyles

December 27, 1944 — February 15, 2026

Beulah, TX

Roy Lee Lyles, 81, of Beulah, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on February 15, 2026.

Funeral services will be held in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel Friday, February 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Roy Lee was born on December 27, 1944 to Robert William Lyles and Helen Inez (Grimes) Helm in Beulah, Texas.

With a seventh grade education, Roy Lee enlisted in the U.S. Navy only to be medically discharged due to a previous injury. Upon returning home, he met Theresa Register and the two were married on June 1, 1973. Together, they had three children: Stephanie Lyles Oliver, Hollie Lyles Clark, and Roy Lee Lyles, Jr. (RL). Roy Lee worked in the logging woods and later drove an 18-wheeler across the country for P&S Trucking and then John & Sandra Trucking. He retired from truck driving and became a dispatcher for John & Sandra Trucking.

Roy Lee was quite the character. You could always count on him to have a story to tell that would leave you in a laughing fit. He loved to go squirrel hunting and duck hunting with his kids and grandkids. Roy Lee loved Ryan’s Lake Hunting Club and made a host of memories there. In the springtime, you would find him in his garden or his shop, solving all the world’s problems. He had a garden to be envious of. He was an avid Texas Longhorn fan and watched any and all sports they played. Roy Lee especially loved all of his grandchildren and held a special place in heart for each of them.

Roy Lee read the Bible from cover to cover two times in his life. He was baptized into Christ on August 14, 2025 at Timberland Drive Church of Christ. He came out of the water and said Amen. From that point on, he was ready for God to call him home. His faith never faltered.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Ray Lyles, Hugh Robert Lyles, and sister, Sherry Ogden.

Roy Lee is survived by his wife of 52 years, Theresa Lyles; children and spouses, Stephanie and Jeff Oliver, Hollie and Jerry Clark, RL and Ashley Lyles; grandchildren, Leah Brashier, Tia Brashier, Mya Brashier, Quinn Brashier, Gavin Brashier, Cameron (Malori) Lyles, Cassidy Clark, Cara Clark, Anslee Lyles, Laney Belle Lyles and Alanna Howard; great-grandchildren, Braylynn Lyles, Gabriel Adkerson, Jesse Hargis, Lilith Hargis, Colter Ragsdale, and one on the way, Harlon Lee. He is also survived by siblings and spouses, Carolyn and Bob Hall and Donna and Bobby Conner; numerous nieces and nephews; and a circle of friends and extended family.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Preachers Reagan McClenny and Preston Nichols for their faithful friendship and weekly Bible studies, answering any and all questions that were thrown their way. They also want to thank nurses Ashly and Rachel and aide “Q” from Affinity Hospice for their devotion and loving attention to Roy Lee; and Dr. Josh Allen and the staff at Lufkin Lifestyle and Family Medicine.

Pallbearers will be Cameron Lyles, Jeff Oliver, Jerry Clark, Gavin Brashier, Mark Hines, Todd Baker, Bill Dean Yates, John Ralph Pouland, Spencer Chumley, Roho Pouland, Johnathan McGuire, and Chris Nash.
