Graveside services for Ronny Keith Goodson, 66, of Corrigan will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan with Brother Phil Corbett officiating.
Mr. Goodson was born February 18, 1958 in Houston, Texas to the late Annie (Crapo) and George Goodson, and died Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in Humble.
Ronny's family moved from Houston to Corrigan in 1972. He met the love of his life, Marilyn Blalock, in front of the Corrigan movie theater. They started dating in November of that year and were married in 1977. Ronny was a butcher for 17 years at Brookshire Brothers in Corrigan before moving to Montana in 1992. There, he worked in Yellowstone National Park for about 21 years. He loved Yellowstone, and he played tour guide to the family and friends who came to visit. He and his family also enjoyed camping all over Montana and Idaho, and visiting Oregon. Ronny also had another love - gold panning, and was a lifelong member of the Gold Prospector's Association. He found some, but it was just being able to be in the outdoors is what he truly loved. Ronny was an avid hunter, and enjoyed taking his wife, kids, and especially his granddaughter Shelby, who started going with him at two years old, probably younger. She was still hunting with him after moving back to Texas in 2013. Ronny went to work for Dean Due, driving a log truck at that time. He drove that truck for about 11 years before retirement in 2023.
Ronny loved his children, wife and grandchildren very much, and he especially loved all of his nieces and nephews. When he was quite small, his great nephew Spencer couldn't say "my Uncle Ronny" very clearly and it came out as "Macaroni", a nickname that all of Spencer's brothers and cousins started calling him. Ronny loved it! He loved all of these children with his whole heart and he will truly be missed.
