Ronald D. "Big O" Oliver

Funeral services for Ronald D. “Big O” Oliver, 53, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Merritt and Brother Howard Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Rocky Springs/Old Center Cemetery.

Mr. Oliver was born June 13, 1964 in Oakland, California to the late Ruby R. (Hood) and Hoy Oliver, and died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at his residence. He resided in Lufkin most of his life and was a supervisor at Pilgrim’s Pride for 12 years. Mr. Oliver enjoyed hunting, fishing and gambling. He loved his nieces and nephews. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Jonell (Hayes) Oliver of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Jennifer Oliver of Lufkin; sisters and brother-in-law, Brenda and Jack Munn, Debbie Jones, and Denise Walters, all of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pam Carruth.

Pallbearers will be Justin Walters, Bo Jones, Matthew Oliver, Jacob Spies, Matthew Thomas, and Jeremy Munn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Parrish, Bo Paulette, Chris Munn, David Massingill, Khamryn Massingill, and Brian Ross.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
