Ronald R. Fontenot, 75, of Broaddus, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 in his residence on Lake Sam Rayburn. Ronnie was born on January 30,1949 to Preston and Rose Fontenot of China, Texas.
A resident of Broaddus for the past five years, and resident of China for most of his life, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. This "Brotherhood" was very dear to his heart as "together" they learned about God’s provision and walked the path as one body.
Ronnie was a Master Electrician and lifelong member of the IBEW. He retired from Newtron as a General Superintendent.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. He enjoyed playing his guitar, spending time at the lake, fishing, hunting, taking scenic pictures, grilling, building projects of metal. leather and wood, and listening to Cajun music. Most importantly, he loved spending time with family and friends. Everyone who knew him, loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Preston Fontenot; mother, Rose Fontenot; sisters, Jane Martin and Faye Fontenot; brother, Jesse Fontenot; brother-in-law, Jim Martin; and sister-in-law, Terri Fontenot.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Jean Fontenot; daughters, Christy Haynes (Lindy) and Shelly Ardoin (Josh); grandchildren, Gage and Shelby Gresham, Colton Haynes, Bethany Haynes and Ellie Ardoin; great-grandchild, Rowdy Wayne; sister, Doris Sullivan (Paul); nephew and niece, Mike and Vickie Martin; along with many other nieces, nephews and friends from all around.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love and support. They would also like to thank the nurses and staff at Harbor Hospice.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin, Texas.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Good Samaritan Church, 21544 FM 92, Fred, Texas at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
