Funeral services for Roland Sprague, 75, of Zavalla will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Stephen Forrest and Brother Harold Sloan officiating. Interment will follow in the Zavalla Cemetery.
Mr. Sprague was born December 15, 1942 in Wills Point, Texas to the late Daisey Loella (Clemmons) and Clarence Melvin Sprague, and died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Sprague served his country in the United States Naval Reserves. He retired as the District Manager for Massey Ferguson and also was an Assistant at Carroway Funeral Home. He was a member of Zavalla First Baptist Church. He loved to garden, hunt, cook and barbecue. He spent lots of time travelling and never met a stranger. Mr. Sprague was a perfect family man, a devoted husband and a wonderful father. He had a sense of humor like no other. As he would often quote we know that “this too shall pass” but for now “it is what it is”.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Pamela Gail Sprague of Zavalla; daughters, Sharla Oliver and husband Ricky of Zavalla and Kara and fiance’ David Andrepont of Zavalla; grandchildren, Bryan Oliver and wife Brittney, Eric Oliver, and Kaley Head; great-grandson, Eli Oliver; brother, Michael L. Sprague of Houston; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wondale and Sybil Harvey of Broaddus; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stanley Sprague.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Oliver, David Andrepont, Bryan Oliver, Eric Oliver, Russell Harvey, and Dwan Coleman.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
