Graveside services for Roland Dee Brock, 81, of Hudson will be held Friday, April 24, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Narrow Way Cemetery with Kevin Brock officiating.
Mr. Brock was born August 11, 1944 in Kennard, Texas to the late Ola Dee (Alexander) and William Franklin Brock, and died Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at his residence. He retired from Temple-Inland following 16 years of employment as a millwright. He was also the owner of Brock’s Welding for 25 plus years. Mr. Brock was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Mr. Brock loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family. He loved horses and loved to garden. He took pride in providing for his family through hard work, fishing, hunting, and gardening. There were always pigs and a calf that he would be feeding out to butcher.
He was a firm man and always meant what he said, and you could always depend on his word. If any mis-words were shared or if his children needed to be disciplined, he was the man for the job, but know that at the end of the day his big heart wasn’t going to allow him to sleep until he had come back not in anger, but in the most humble way he could to let you know that you were loved and he hated to have said the things he said or did to his children for having to now spare the rod! He was one of the best, one of a kind, and possibly one of the last. He loved and was loved, and he will always be missed.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie (Brock) and Steve Sage of Corrigan and Tressa (Brock) and Chris Feazell of Nacogdoches; son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Wanda Brock of Hudson; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betsy Brock of Lufkin, and Jeanette Brock of Hudson; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Jesse Lee of Lufkin, and JW and Tina Mettlen of Diboll; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth (Mettlen) Brock; great-great-granddaughter, Nova Brock; brothers, William Henry “Chicken” Brock and James Homer Brock; and sisters, Helen Luce, Robbie Sterling, Marie Matchett, and Carylon Lee.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at the cemetery.
