Roger Howard Wareing

Roger Howard Wareing, 73, of Zavalla passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023 in a local hospital. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Wareing was born July 25, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Jean (Rhinehalt) and Joel Taylor Wareing.

Roger was in the United States Air Force and served during Vietnam. He was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and worked as an accountant. During retirement, Roger and his wife, Sarah, enjoyed RVing across America, especially trips to Alaska. During his life he encouraged youth for many years as a Boy Scout leader. He and Sarah especially liked coastal fishing trips.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah, with whom he shared life in 38 years of marriage; daughter, Shayna of Pueblo, Colorado; son and daughter-in-law, Joel and Lori of Springerville, Arizona; grandchildren, Sam, Jean, and Ruth Marks, and Cadence, MacKenzie, Joel, and Amy Wareing; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cynthia and Fred Kanke of Lufkin, Nancy and Dale Lowe of Austin; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
