Funeral services for Robert “Bobby” Warner, 64, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Warner was born September 25, 1953 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Louise (Lord) and Vernon Warner, and died Sunday, September 16, 2018 in a local hospital.
Mr. Warner was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He was employed for 20 years with Southern Pacific Railroad and retired after 25 years of service with the United States Forestry Service, where he took pride fighting fires with the helicopter crew. He loved hunting and fishing, but his passion was his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time on the lake and took great pride in fixing things. Ol’ Bob was truly a one-of-a-kind man, idolized by many and loved by all. Mr. Warner was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Warner of Lufkin; daughter, Kristy Petty and husband Randall of Lufkin; sons, Daniel Warner and wife Amber of Lufkin and Jason Warner and wife Heather of Huntington; grandchildren, Parker Petty, Paxton Petty, Jaelyn Warner, Hadley Warner, Tanner Richardson, Colter Richardson, and Cason Warner; great-grandchildren, Braylee Richardson and Axton Richardson; sister-in-law, Pat Warner of Hudson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ronnie Warner and Ray Warner.
Pallbearers will be Paul Smith, Michael Smith, Michael “Goob” Smith, Jim Randall Bell, Tanner Richardson, and Colter Richardson.
Honorary pallbearers will be his Forest Service family.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
