Robert E. "Bob" Jumper

Graveside services for Robert E. (Bob) Jumper, 83, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in the Old Union Cemetery with the Reverend Randall K. Green officiating.

Mr. Jumper was born October 3, 1939, in Lufkin, Texas, the son of the late Edith (Williamson) and Eugene Jumper.  He died Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Jumper’s lifetime occupation was that of an accomplished self-employed cattleman.  He had served his country as a member of the U.S. National Guard.  He attended Stephen F. Austin State University and Sam Houston State University. Mr. Jumper was a member of Providence Baptist Church and had resided in the Lufkin/Hudson area all his life.

Survivors include his wife, Betty (Brittain) Jumper of Lufkin; daughter, Lou Ann Jumper of Dallas; brother, Philip Jumper of Fort Worth; sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Joe Argue of Houston; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Old Union Cemetery Association, 461 South FM 1194, Lufkin, Texas 75904; or to Affinity Hospice, 2708 S. Medford Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75901.
