Robert Earl Ellington

Graveside services for Robert Earl Ellington, 71, of Huntington will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Berry Cemetery with Brother Larry Staggs officiating.

Mr. Ellington was born February 27, 1954 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Naomi Lerlene (Jones) and E.W. Ellington, and died Sunday, August 3, 2025 in a Houston hospital.

Mr. Ellington was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. He was a welder and was last employed with Woods Welding. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved to joke around. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Mr. Ellington was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Clay and Heather Duett Ellington of Huntington, and Mike and April Davis of Apple Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Jason Rice of Tennessee; grandchildren, Tyler Rice, Christopher Rice, Samantha Harrison, Katie Davis, Max Davis, Branson Ellington, Brayleigh Ellington, and Olivia Ellington; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Phelps of Huntington, Donna and Roy Johnson of Lufkin, JoAnn McGough of Huntington, and Susan and Joe Nerren of Etoile; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna (McClendon) Ellington; and son, Kenny Davis.
