Robert Damon Buckner

Funeral services for Robert Damon Buckner, 61, of Huntington will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Brad Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.

Mr. Buckner was born October 2, 1960 in Lufkin, Texas to  Deanna Faye (Hayes) and Oscar Buckner, Sr., and died Thursday, January 27, 2022 at his residence.

Damon worked in Grounds and Maintenance for the Huntington Housing Authority. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, like to visit with friends, and sitting and hanging out at the mall.

Survivors include his mother, Deanna Faye Thomas of Huntington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony and Lisa Buckner, Oscar and Cathy Buckner, all of Lufkin; sister, Lori Thomas of Huntington; nieces, Brittany Hall and husband Clay of Lufkin, Tasha Horning and husband Ryan of Huntington; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Buckner, Sr.; and sister, Robbie Buckner.

Pallbearers will be Greg Spivey, Andy Spivey, Malcolm Arnold, Clark Bewley, Dennis Bell, Clay Hall, Ryan Horning, Jerry Evett, Bobby Weaver, and Mike Arnold.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon prior to the service.
