Rita Loyce Sullivan

Memorial services for Rita Loyce Sullivan, 69, of Apple Springs will be held Friday, March 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Carpenter’s Way Church with Pastor Mark Wilke officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sullivan was born October 30, 1956 in Baytown, Texas to the late Edna (Nichols) and Watson Combs, and died Friday, March 20, 2026 at her residence.

Mrs. Sullivan loved children and spent her career as a Preschool Teacher at various schools. She felt her biggest calling in life was to love and care for her own family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, and especially enjoyed canning. Rita was a faithful member of Carpenter’s Way Church.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Curtis Sullivan of Apple Springs; sons, Bryan Sullivan and fiancée Laura of Magnolia, Joshua Sullivan and wife Sarah of Santa Fe, Texas, Benjamin Sullivan of Spring; daughter-in-law, Kacee Boxley of Atascocita; grandchildren, Jace Schuenemann, Lily Schuenemann, Abigail Sullivan, Madeline Sullivan, Ava Sullivan, Megan Boxley, William Boxley, Hunter Boxley, Mykala Boxley; siblings, William Davis and wife Connie of Iowa, Louisiana, Melissa Valenti and husband Chris of Baytown, Billy Sirles and wife Susan of Nacogdoches; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lannie Sirles.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday morning prior to the service at the church.
