Rita Jo (Davis) Breckenridge

Graveside services for Rita Jo (Davis) Breckenridge, 87, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Bennett Cemetery in Apple Springs with Reverend Mark A. Newton officiating.

Mrs. Breckenridge was born May 28, 1935 in Groveton to the late Dehlia L. (Moore) and Chester W. Davis, and died Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Breckenridge was a teacher and taught at various Air Force Bases throughout the world, as well as Diboll Independent School District. She was a member of First Baptist Church Lufkin.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Ret. Colonel Lacy Breckenridge; sons, Reverend Dr. Robert K. Breckenridge and wife Cynthia C., Jeff Breckenridge and wife Deidra; Susan Breckenridge (daughter-in-law); grandchildren and their spouses, Robert W. Breckenridge, David and Addison Breckenridge, Scott Breckenridge, Melissa Breckenridge, Lacy and Sterling Breland, Benjamin Breckenridge; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Stephen Breckenridge; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Guy Barrett.
