Graveside services for Richard Allan McDonald, 61, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Whitehouse Cemetery with Brother Ron Rose officiating.
Mr. McDonald was born September 3, 1958, in Redlands, California, the son of Arlene (Ross) and Chester McDonald. He died Friday, November 1, 2019 in a Lufkin hospital.
Mr. McDonald was employed as an equipment operator for the Santa Fe Railroad. He had resided in Lufkin for 10 years and was a former resident of California. He enjoyed card games with his brother, and making up his own funny songs and singing them to his wife. He was fascinated with trains. Mr. McDonald was always cheerful and in good spirits. He attended The River Church For Whosoever in Alto.
Survivors include his wife of 4 years, Marilyn McDonald of Lufkin; son, Kyle McDonald of California; brother, Tim McDonald and wife Judy of Alto; step-brother, Ernie Wilson and wife Charlene of California; step-daughter, Melissa Long and husband John of Livingston; step-son, Randy Childs and wife Crystal of Lufkin; grandchildren, Callie Long, Lindsey Long, both of Livingston, and Logan Childs of Lufkin; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be men from The River Church.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
