Funeral services for Reverend Kenneth (Wayne) Hubert, 65, of Corrigan will be held Monday, June 15, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in Chester. Interment will follow in the Lilly Island Cemetery.

On January 4, 1961, Kenneth (Wayne) Hubert was born to Bernice Evans Hubert and Chester Field Bass in Houston, Texas who proceeded him in death.

Wayne attended Chester ISD and graduated in1979. He was the Valedictorian of his class. He attended Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas and played football for 2 years.

During his early Childhood he met the love of his life Beretta Horn. They were joined in holy matrimony on June 15, 1985 and one child was born from that union, Tiffany. Wayne was raised by his grandparents Jacob and Gertrude Darden (Deceased) in Barnum, Texas.

He joined church at an early age where he served as a deacon, financial secretary, choir president (he loved to sing), and a keeper of the church. Wayne accepted the call from the Lord and preached his first sermon on February 10, 2019, at Palestine MBC. He was employed with Georgia Pacific for 37 years and retired due to his health.

Wayne was devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, God Father, Uncle, and Friend to many. He loved his community and if given the opportunity he would not have moved anywhere else in the world. Wayne enjoyed serving the Lord, cooking for everyone, and doing outside work at his home. He also loved spending time with Tiffany, A.J., and his grandchildren. The Lord called Wayne from Labor to Reward on June 10, 2026.

He leaves to cherish his beautiful memories to his Loving Wife of 41 years, Beretta Hubert; Daughter, Tiffany Jackson (Archie, Jr); Grandchildren Akira and Trinity Jackson; Mother-in-Law, Freddie Horn of Chester Texas; Sister-in-Law, Lena Freeman(Larry); Brother-in-Law, Lawrence Reagie both of Chester, Texas; Brother, Claude Swanson (Cora), Chesterfield Bass (Yolonda), Chester Swanson (Elaine), James Bass all from Houston, Texas; Step-Mom, Sara Bass; Special Aunts, Florine Johnson and Jewel, Earline Trotty Holeman; Special Nieces, Dannethia Castelberry (Jay), Connie Tolbert (Mike), Valerie Rangel; and a host of nieces and nephews. God Children, Vera Wyatt, Devonna Cratic, Alex Harrell, Mekeisha Smith and Lashaunda Hamilton; Special Family and Friends, Cousin Louise Johnson, Mary Martin, Juanita Marshall, Wanda Adams (Roderic), and Paulette (Michael) Daniel, "The Traveling Church" Carlos and Jennifer Berry.

He is proceeded in death by his Brother, George Bass; Sister, Gertie Hubert; Brother-in-Law, Jonny Reagie; Father-in-Law, Ben Horn; Stepdad, Leo Jackson; Special Cousin, Janice Hamilton; Special Aunt, Patrica Conner; Niece, Kanesha Reagie; and Nephew Brandon Reagie.

PROVERBS 3:5-6: TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL THINE HEART AND LEAN NOT UNTO THINE OWN UNDERSTANDING: IN ALL THY WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, AND HE SHALL DIRECT THY PATHS.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church.
