Memorial services for Rev. Thomas Kendall Clayton, 81, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, October 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Harmony Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Core officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Clayton was born June 30, 1937 in Kilgore, Texas to the late Madge (Kendall) and Thomas Henderson Clayton, and died Saturday, September 22, 2018 in a local nursing home.
A former resident of Conroe, Rev. Clayton served as Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church Conroe for 18 years before serving in the same capacity at Ferguson Road Baptist Church in Ferguson, Missouri. He was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Katie (Thompson) Clayton of Lufkin; sons, David Clayton and partner Greg Pritchett of Houston, Mark Clayton and wife Kelly of Dallas; daughter, Lisa Clayton and fiancé Bobby Hays of Royce City; grandchildren, Henry Clayton, Katie Clayton, Marissa McWilliams, and Cole McWilliams and wife Izumi; sister, Tommye Salisbury and husband Wayne; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Annie Beth Clayton; and brother, Jack Clayton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Conner Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 148, Ratcliff, Texas 75858.
