Rev. Louis Neese

Funeral services for Rev. Louis Neese, 88, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother James Mills officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in Berry Cemetery.

Rev. Neese was born November 24, 1937 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Louis Neese, Sr. and Bessie Elizabeth (Tanner) Neese, and died Saturday, May 2, 2026 in a local hospice facility.

Rev. Neese resided in Lufkin most of his life. He served his country in the United States Air Force and proudly served his Lord and Savior for 50 years as an ordained minister in the Assemblies of God church. He loved his Lord, his family and country and truly had a servant’s heart. Rev. Neese has left this world a better place.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Betty Neese of Lufkin; daughter, Jorene Plunkett of Lufkin; son, Jesse Neese and wife Michelle Hooper of Maryville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kimberly Mason and husband Daniel, Sabrina Strange and husband Cody; Louis Plunkett; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Eugene Neese of Dauphin Island, Alabama, Tommy Neese and wife Patricia of Mobile, Alabama; sister, Lilly Bohannon of Tillmans Corner, Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Stephen Louis Neese and Michael David Neese.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
