Reece Hubbard

A Celebration of Life for James M. “Reece” Hubbard, Jr., 62, of Alto will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Harmony Hill Baptist Church with Dr. John W. Greene officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Reece was born October 26, 1962 in Houston, Texas, and died Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at his residence.

Reece graduated from Lufkin High School, Class of ’81. Reece began his career at Brookshire Brothers, working there for over 32 years. Reece and Brenda founded multiple businesses, Totally Under Pressure LLC, Crown of Thorns Nursery LLC, and Hubbard Landscape Design LLC. Reece was a licensed auctioneer, an avid hunter, enjoyed raising brahman cattle, and a car enthusiast - he loved Corvettes. Reece was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda (Shelton) Hubbard of Alto; mother, Shirley (Fisher) Ladd of Lufkin; brother, Jeff Hubbard of Tarpon Springs, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Denise and Norman Neville of Diboll; mother-in-law, Betty Grable of Lufkin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Craig and Deri Terry of Gulf Breeze, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Maurice Hubbard, Sr.
