Graveside services for Randal Keith Brashear, 63, of Lufkin will be held Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Brandon Brashear and Pastor Mardy Guidry officiating.
Mr. Brashear passed to his Heavenly home Thursday, August 23, 2018 while surrounded by his family. He was a devoted father and loving grandfather. Mr. Brashear was born August 18, 1955 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Gordon Glenn “Tip” and Sally Louise (Griggs) Brashear. He was one of six siblings and spent his entire life in Lufkin.
On December 28, 1976 Mr. Brashear married Melissa Ann Woodall and they started raising a family not long after. He worked with the family business until he founded Brashear’s Backhoe Service in the mid-1980s. He was a hard-working man who loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he took great pride in teaching his grandson how to carry on this tradition. In fact, nothing brought him more joy in life than his two grandchildren, who affectionately call him their Grr. Mr. Brashear was a devoted member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Tiffanie Brashear Villasana and husband Tony of Houston and Melanie Brashear of Lufkin; son, Brandon Brashear and wife Emily of Lufkin; grandchildren, Preston and Hadley Villasana of Houston; brothers, Martin Brashear and wife Rene, Robert “Chip” Brashear and wife Danelle, all of Huntington, Kevin Brashear and wife Nita of Lufkin; sister, Kelley Foley of Lufkin; brother-in-law, Kenny Woodall of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Gwen Kremin of California; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Melissa in 1992, his parents, and his sister, Glenda Louise Brashear.
Serving as pallbearers will be Martin Brashear, Chip Brashear, Kevin Brashear, Shoel Brashear, Daniel Brashear, Tommy Ainsworth, Joe Mack Allen, and Kevin Wallace.
Honorary pallbearers will be Preston Villasana and Elvin Dias.
