Preston Hook

Graveside services for Preston Hook, 75, of Diboll will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in the Old Diboll Cemetery with Reverend Steve Zorich officiating.

Mr. Hook was born November 22, 1942 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Roxie Ann (Gibson) and Ray Hook, and died Friday, January 5, 2018 in a local hospital.

Mr. Hook had resided in Diboll for most of his life. He was the Park Groundskeeper for the Parks Department of the City of Diboll for 20 years. Mr. Hook never met a stranger and was very generous and willing to help everyone. He loved his animals and gardening and enjoyed listening to music. He attended Diboll First United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife Linda Hook of Diboll; daughter, Deidra Lee of Diboll; one grandson; three great-granddaughters; brothers, Winston Hook and wife Nita and Robert Hook and wife Arlene, all of Diboll; sisters, Ann Hook of DeBerry and Ethel Ward and husband David of Diboll; sisters-in-law, Laura Garner of Diboll and Doris Hogue of Hemphill; brother-in-law, Mark Hogue of Diboll; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louie and Dovie McWilliams; and best friend, Nick Ashworth.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home.
