Perry E. Johnson, Jr.

Graveside services for Perry E. Johnson, Jr., 101, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Joel Hitchcock officiating.

Mr. Johnson was born July 2, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Isabell (Tucker) and Perry Elsworth Johnson, Sr., and died Monday, October 23, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Johnson retired as the Credit Manager at Temple-Inland after more than 42 years of service. He was a very active member of the Evening Lions Club and was a past District Governor for District 2 S-1. He was a pilot in the Army Air Corps and flew a B-25 in World War II. Mr. Johnson was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Edna Loydeanne Johnson of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Steve Adams of Lufkin; daughter-in-law, Pam Johnson of Lufkin; grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Torri Adams, Chris and Susan Adams, Stephanie and Jason Conn, Phillip Johnson; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven L. Johnson in 2020; sisters, Shirley Corso, JoAnn Pfeifer; and brothers, Richard Johnson and Robert Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Scott Adams, Chris Adams, Phillip Johnson, Tanner Adams, Jasper Conn, Jeremy Conn, and Jason Conn.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon prior to the service at the cemetery.
