Funeral services for Peggy L. White, 89, of Apple Springs will be held Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Apple Springs.
Mrs. White was born March 22, 1929 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Callie (Davis) and Dank Hudaburg Sturrock, and died Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in a local nursing home.
Mrs. White had resided in Apple Springs most of her life. She loved to cook and enjoyed providing food for all church functions. She was a loving caregiver, always willing to help those in need, and always welcomed anyone into her home as her own family. She volunteered for 14 years at the Senior Citizen’s Center in Apple Springs and was a member of Apple Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Earl White of Nacogdoches and James Larry Brister of Iola; niece, Bessie Daniels of Atlanta; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years in 2008, Burl White; and son, James H. White.
Pallbearers will be Richard Spring, Haegen Spring, Rich Spring, Lane Spring, Lance LaRue, and Mike Hines.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Parkwood Place, and especially Janice, for the loving care they provided for our mother.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon prior to the service at the funeral home.
