Peggy Sue Paine

October 4, 1954 — August 9, 2025

Nacogdoches, TX

Peggy Sue Paine, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025. She was born on October 4, 1954, in Borger, Texas, to the late Jesse Turley and Sue Pipkin. She grew up cherishing time with family and loved spending days at the lake.

In 1969, Peggy moved to Gillette, Wyoming, later relocating to Aurora, Colorado, and eventually settling in Byers, Colorado, in 1971. She graduated from Byers High School in 1973 and, later that year, married the love of her life, Gilbert Paine, on December 27, 1973.

Peggy was a devoted mother to her three daughters: Michelle Paine, the late Melissa Paine, and Stephanie Stoermer. She was also a proud grandmother to Breyanna Sapp, Madison Stoermer, Austin Stoermer, Tyler Stoermer, Kayla Fredrich, Michael Fredrich, and Estella Fredrich, as well as a great-grandmother to Leo Tatum. She is also survived by her brother, Neil Turley.

A hard-working and creative woman, Peggy owned and operated USA Video in Strasburg, Colorado, for 12 years. She worked at Prairie Creeks Nursing home for many years as a cook. She devoted much of her free time to volunteering with Girl Scouts, where she enthusiastically participated in camping trips, Ice Capades outings, and numerous craft activities. Peggy had a talent for sewing, crafting, baking cookies, and decorating beautiful cakes.

She was known for her warm heart and her love of collecting treasures, especially Disney memorabilia. Halloween was her favorite holiday, though she also found joy in the magic of Christmas. She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, spending time with family, and caring for her beloved pets—three dogs and even a pig.

In December 2024, Peggy returned to her Texas roots, purchasing a beautiful new home in February 2025. She enjoyed making it her own and filling it with love and laughter.

Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter Melissa Paine; her parents, Sue and Wayne Pipkin, and Jesse Turley.

Her life was defined by her creativity, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
