Conroe, TX

Graveside services for Peggy Ann Lowe of Conroe will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Peggy Ann Lowe, 64, was called home far too soon Tuesday, May 19, 2026, leaving behind a deep and lasting emptiness in the hearts of all who love her. Born in Key West, Florida on November 29, 1961, she was the beloved daughter of Warren Harding Lowe and Patricia Ann Gulledge.

Peggy lived a life rooted in faith and a steadfast and unwavering love for Jesus. She was a free spirit with a deep appreciation for music, the grounding strength of trees, the simple beauty of the ocean, and the majesty of sunsets. She walked through life with a gypsy soul and a warmth that drew people to her wherever she went. Cooking for those she cared about came naturally to her. In everything she made, the secret ingredient was always love.

No one ever left Peggy’s home hungry, and she never hesitated to offer a warm place to sleep, a listening ear, and an understanding heart. She had a special way of “taking in the strays” and making family out of friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Duke Leonard and husband Chris Leonard; her sons, William Curtis Duke and spouse Jessica Birchard, and Michael Anthony Duke, Sr.; her daughter-in-law, Jeanette Adams; her stepchildren, Bobby Stephens, Jr., Stephanie Stephens, and Sherri Lee; her brother, Michael Lowe; and her sister and best friend, Michelle Lowe. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Michael Anthony Duke, Jr., Nathan Dean Leonard, Joanna Fae Duke, Cyrus Cordell Leonard, Hannah Michelle Moreland, and Kenneth Gabriel Brewer; along with many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Warren Harding Lowe and Patricia Ann Gulledge; her sister, Jessica Lowe; her husband, Bobby Ray Stephens Sr.; her son, James Michael Duke; and her grandson, Tyler Chase Duke.

Her love, laughter, generosity, and compassionate spirit will live on in the many lives she touched. She will be carried in our hearts with sweet remembrance and love always, to the moon and back.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Duke, Chris Leonard, Michael Duke, Jr., Nathan Leonard, Cyrus Leonard, and Michael Lowe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Duke and Pat Nunnally.
