Pearl Ward

Funeral services for Pearl Ward, 71, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Youngblood officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ward was born January 6, 1952 in Kountze, Texas to the late Ellen (McGowen) and Jake Messer, and died Saturday, December 23, 2023 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Ward had resided in Lufkin for 35 years. She was a woman of God and loved to sing, cook, and babysit.

Survivors include her husband, Wilburn Ward of Lufkin; daughters, Dianne Smith of Beaumont, Trina Ward, and Jessika McCreary, both of Lufkin; sons and daughter-in-law, J.R. and Patti Ward, and Zack Allen, all of Lufkin; grandchild, Madison Ward; great-grandchild, Raelynn Allen; numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Ellen Callaway of Lufkin and Shirley Jenkins of Vidor; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Joann Messer, Curtis Messer, Sr, all of Etoile, and David and Charlotte Messer of Chandler; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Johnny Messer.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon prior to the services.
