Funeral services for Pauline Mildred White, 93, of Houston, formerly of Huntington, will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Mrs. White was born March 23, 1924 in Stillwell, Oklahoma to the late Betsy (Smith) and Jeff Tindle, and died Friday, May 5, 2017 in Spring.
Mrs. White was raised by her grandparents, Annie and Charlie Smith, in Stillwell, Oklahoma until she moved to Muskogee to live with her aunt. She previously resided in the Hanks Creek Area and was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 39 1/2 years. She began her career as an operator and was an instructor who trained others when she retired. Mrs. White had resided in Houston for seven years. She was a member of the Pioneers CWA. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Mark Alexander of Spring and Phyllis and Les Burg of Golden, Colorado; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Kathy White of Friendswood and Jimmy and Maria White of Houston; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, Maynard White; and grandson, Nicholas White.
Pallbearers will be Travis Alexander, Matt Martin, Kirk White, Brian Ausmus, Ryan Mingle, and Nick Toparcean.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon prior to the services.
