Pauline Rhodes Grisham

Funeral services for Pauline Rhodes Grisham, 89, of Lufkin, will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Charles M. Roberts officiating.  Interment will follow in Gann Cemetery.

Mrs. Grisham was born October 27, 1929 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Nina Mae (Cravy) and Paul Tom Rhodes. She died Sunday, June 30, 2019 at The Joseph House.

Mrs. Grisham had resided in Lufkin all her life. She served as the Angelina County Clerk from 1981 until 1994, after previously working as a Deputy Clerk for 7 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church Lufkin.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Joe Paul and Barbara Grisham of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Joan Grisham Pope and John Pope of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Kimberly and James Pierce of Arlington, Kye and Carmen Grisham of Pasadena, Patrick Pope of Tyler, and Kevin and Janice Pope of Lindale; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Jeffrey of Houston; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Joe Grisham; infant son, John Douglas Grisham; brother-in-law, Marcus Jeffrey; and nephews, Mark and Drew Jeffrey.

Pallbearers will be Kye Grisham, Patrick Pope, Kevin Pope, Nathan Grisham, Scott Jeffrey and Beamon Calhoun.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Lufkin, 106 E., Bremond Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75901; to the Lufkin High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 150837, Lufkin, Texas 75915; or to the Gann Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 3022, Lufkin, Texas 75903.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
