Funeral services for Pauline DeWoody Capps, 98, of Huntington will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Reverend Jerry Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Mrs. Capps was a lifelong resident of Huntington, Texas and died November 24, 2018. She was born September 3, 1920, in Angelina County, Texas the daughter of the late James Andrew and Georgia (Roberts) DeWoody of Huntington.
Mrs. Capps was a member of Huntington First Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a Huntington Telephone Operator and as City Secretary for the town of Huntington. Later she worked for and retired from Olin Illinois Plywood Company in Angelina County.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy E. and Cynthia Capps of Nacogdoches. Other survivors include her sisters, Marie Horton and husband Ted of Lufkin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldridge K. Capps; brothers, Jimmie DeWoody, Hugh DeWoody, Andrew DeWoody, Bobby DeWoody; and sisters, Mollie Wilson and Ora Nell Jones.
Pallbearers will be Joey Horton, Chance Armstrong, Cole Oliver, Stephen Schlein, Ted Ivy, and Phil DeWoody.
