Patrick Willard Mccann Iii

Funeral services for Patrick Willard McCann III, 81, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Youth & Worship Center at Lufkin First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Jerome Brimmage officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. McCann was born August 4, 1937 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Ruby (Horn) and Patrick Willard McCann, Jr., and died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. McCann had resided in Lufkin most of his life.  He served his country in the United States Army as a military policeman and was later self- employed. He was loving husband, father and grandfather and was known by his family as their own “MacGyver” since he could fix anything. He was a man of many talents and interests. Mr. McCann was a member of Lufkin First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Janie McCann of Lufkin; daughters, Sage Papaioannou and husband Rich of Cypress and Liz and husband Dr. Todd Burton of McKinney; grandchildren, Nick and Kaitlin Papaioannou, Jake Papaioannou, Blake Burton, Kylie Burton, and Brett Burton; sister-in-law, Sandy Hendrick and husband Don of Diboll; brother-in-law, Carrel Black and wife Vickie of Mississippi; Pat’s sidekick, Jose Ramirez of Lufkin; cousin, Martha Elizabeth West and husband Don of College Station; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Molly McCann; and stepfather, George Clark.

Pallbearers will be Blake Burton, Brett Burton, Nick Papaioannou, Jake Papaioannou, Jose Ramirez, and Justin R. Youngblood.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
